Who are we?

Angie Pruitt

Angela Pruitt believes that within each school, lies the power for transformation. Angie is an expert in building sustainable teacher team structures, and professional development inquiry systems. She is a dedicated educator having served in many roles including, district administrator, assistant principal, instructional coach, and high school literacy and ENL teacher. Angie co-founded Brooklyn Prep High School, and understands first hand the critical importance of following your true north as a school leader, and not letting the tide of conflicting influences take you off course.

Elise Abegg

Elise is a lifelong and passionate supporter of New York City schools. She attended public school in Brooklyn from grades 1-12 and began her teaching career immediately following college. After teaching and coaching in schools for a dozen years, Elise worked both on the district level and citywide to support teachers, school leaders, and district administrators in curriculum, pedagogy, and systems thinking for two decades. This work has provided Elise with experience helping leaders navigate the often turbulent waters of effectively and authentically leading a school.

As of April 2024: Vicki Madden

School changed Vicki’s life, and she still believes in its transformative power. After working as a teacher, technology coordinator, and instructional coach for thirty years, Vicki has spent the last decade working with leaders to create and sustain systems to support their staff to focus on what matters most: the power of education to improve the lives of students and their families.
